Growing on Threads in 2026: Is It Worth Your Time?

Image
If you are a creator staring at your Instagram grid in late 2026 and wondering whether it's worth carving out time for yet another platform, you are not alone. Growing on Threads keeps popping up in creator conversations — half promise, half hype. Here is the honest answer: what the numbers say, how the algorithm actually rewards you, the exact steps that work, and whether it's worth your time. The numbers: where Threads stands in late 2026 Let's start with what Meta itself has announced. Threads crossed 500 million monthly active users in June 2026 , roughly three years after launch. The long-form path: 1,000 subscribers + 4,000 valid public watch hours from long-form videos in the last 12 months. One detail people miss: Shorts watch time does not count toward the 4,000 watch hours — t...

Meta $25 Billion Verdict: What Creators Must Know

Image
By Sidra Salman · October 22, 2026 Yesterday's Meta $25 billion verdict — ordered by a New Mexico judge after a jury found the company misled consumers about how it handles their data — is the biggest penalty ever handed to Meta. It traces back to the Cambridge Analytica scandal of 2018 — eight years later, and the fallout is still landing. Here is what actually happened, why it's huge, and what it means if you run a business or create content on Facebook and Instagram. What happened: the case in plain English Back in 2018, the world learned that Cambridge Analytica, a British political consulting firm, had quietly harvested the personal data of up to 87 million Facebook users through a third-party app. The firm used that data to build profiles of American voters. It became one of the defining privacy scandals of the decade. In 2021, New Mexico sued Meta, accusing the company of lying to state residents about who could access their data and how Facebook handled hate...
